Belly Shots

My belly so far:

10 weeks
10 Weeks

11 weeks
11 Weeks

12 weeks
12 Weeks

I have week 13 sitting on the camera still.  Someday I'll get around to editing it...

Butts

In an effort to be as old-timey as possible with this whole baby thing we've decided to give cloth diapers a try.  Specifically these ones: FuzziBunz.  Honestly, how much cuter is this:
than this:

(sorry, I have a thing against characters on things.  In fact I have a "thing" against most baby stuff, but that's a story for another day)
AAANNNDDD, pulling numbers I'm making up off the top of my head, it's a stinkin' lot cheaper to go the cloth route.  I read somewhere that the initial investment in cloth diapers can be about $400, while disposables can cost around $2500 over the time your child is in diapers.
Of course, with our current budget the baby would be getting get an old t-shirt tied around it's bum.  But that's all going to change someday, right?  Please tell me it will........

Known knowns and known unknowns

We've been living life completely day to day lately.  It's been an exercise in trusting God in every aspect. As a result here's a list of our known knowns and known unknowns.

WHAT WE KNOW:

• There's a munchkin that will be making it's presence known somewhere around March 12, 2010.

• We're having a midwife assisted home birth.  (That is, if we can find a "home" by then.)  Yes, it seems crazy, but we've thoroughly researched our options and this is it what we're most at peace with.

• Southern California is miserable this time of year.  It's been over a 100º this past week with no breeze.  In an effort to save our last few pennies we've been trying to not run the A/C.  It makes for cranky, grumpy Cliffords.

• We have a roof over our heads today and for that we're thankful.

• Somewhere in all of this God is going to provide for us.  There really isn't any other option at this point.

• We're having Trader Joe's Chicken Potstickers for dinner tonight.

• Tomorrow I (Jess) have an interview with a local portrait studio about temporary work.

• Trader Joe's is not hiring.  Neither is Dr. Bronners Magic Soaps.

• gmail is not working today and I have e-mails I need to send.

WHAT WE DON'T KNOW:

• If the munchkin's going to be a boy or girl.  The plan is to wait until the birth to find out.

• If Matt's going to be working the rest of the week.  We never know this one and it's starting to get old.  It's also taken a toll on what savings we did have.  Key word: did.

• Why a Sizzler cheeseburger sounds like to best food in the world.  I have been craving the bun for weeks, but I haven't eaten at a Sizzler in about 15 years, and I'm pretty sure it's not nearly as tasty as I think it will be.

• When it's appropriate to set up a baby registry.  I've already researched bottles, diapers, and crib mobiles.  It's pathetic.

• If it's safe to dye my hair while pregnant.  I have spent hours researching the issue, and can't make a decision.  For now I've been letting my hair grow wild, but I'm starting to look like I'm a 15 year old goth kid who works at Hot Topic.

In closing, in case you missed it, here's the photo we used to announce the baby.
